Rocky Mountain Jester x Bett's Supaya
Sunshine is 45" at the withers and possesses a wonderful classic coat. Her movement and structure are strong with lots of other great qualities! Sunshine has the coat length we prefer, plus a sparse undercoat that combs well (and largely falls out if someone doesn't get around to combing it). Her gaits, have excellent rhythm, and she is definitely a bright llama -- all traits we've very much admired in her parents. Additionally, she has thrown all these traits in her offspring.
Her sire Rocky Mountain Jester, (who was owned by well respected packer and breeder Bobra Goldsmith) was a wonderful all around llama. He was a complete athelete competing in not only packing, performance and halter, but driving too!Sunshine's dam was still producing in her 20's and still totally sound in her conformation until she died at age 23. Supaya was definitely one of Rocky Mountain's best producing females of all time! Sunshine's bloodlines make her a good match for our classic program and what we are doing.
Sunshine is a beautiful girl and has crossed well with our classic male MPL Anders Tobias. With two complete classic working animals like this, we have gotten some really great pack/athletic animals from this cross! Her offspring have been some of our very favorite classics born here.
JNK Tobias's Caldara by MPL Anders Tobias was the the 2011 ILR-SD
International Gathering of Friends Reserve Grand Champion Classic Female at just over a year old. She also ended that show season as the #2 UAP Performance llama in the country. Since then Caldara has gone on to be a Pet Partners registered therapy llama and Niki's newest driver.
Sunshine's 2011 son JNK Cayetano by MPL Sky Rocket is our junior classic herdsire. In one show season he racked up 8 Grand Champions in Classic Wool Males halter and ended the season undefeated. Cayetano is a Pet Partners Complex Registered Therapy Llama and has started his packing and stud careers.
Because of the fact Toby and Sunshine's bloodline is rare in the packing world, we have retained their 2014 male JNK Tobias's Trask as a potential replacement for his sire down the road. We also just love the brains and trainability of this line too!
We owned Sunshine's half sister by the same dam, Rocky Mountain Inca's Legacy Lady. Legacy was the ALSA 2008 National Reserve Champion Light Wool Female and retired with 15 Grands to her name.
